1958年生于湖南益阳。

全国书画艺术委员会常务理事。

中国东方文化研究会研究员。

中国高级工艺美术师。

湖南省怀化市国画院院长。

2005年至2023年为怀化市美术家协会副主席。

2007年被中共怀化市委、怀化市人民政府授予鲁子华“德艺双馨”文艺家称号。

1996年至2016年中央电视台《翰墨戏韵》栏目四次专题报导《鲁子华绘画艺术人生》。

2015年以来，多次参加中央电视“公益捐画”活动。

2023年6月被中央电视台授予鲁子华“CCTV爱心大使”荣誉称号。

中国美术家协会主席范迪安先生对鲁子华的绘画艺术作出了高度评价：
